Base pay range

The selected candidate will hold a tenure-track or tenured appointment in a related academic department, depending on disciplinary background, and contribute to GES’s integrated mission of research, teaching, and engagement—including graduate training and participation in cluster-wide initiatives.
Ideal candidates will help GES expand its reach into artificial intelligence, biosecurity, and/or novel food proteins
, with emphasis on ethical, legal, policy, or societal dimensions of these areas.

Areas of Interest Artificial Intelligence and Biosecurity- Intersections of AI and biological systems
- Biosurveillance, synthetic biology risks, dual-use considerations
- Governance, analysis, or oversight of AI–bio applications
- Ethical, legal, or policy dimensions of gene editing, genomic data, or microbiome research
- Societal impacts of genetic and genomic technologies
- Regulatory analysis or anticipatory governance of emerging biotechnologies
- Governance and policy frameworks related to alternative or engineered proteins
- Societal, economic, or regulatory aspects of food system innovation
- Responsible development pathways for emerging food biotechnologies
The CFEP is a university-wide initiative that supports interdisciplinary “clusters” composed of faculty working together across departments and colleges. CFEP faculty benefit from:

- Engage with relevant academic, policy, or professional communities
- A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field
- A strong record of research, or demonstrated potential for high-quality scholarly productivity
- Experience or interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
