Year Round Counselor- Before​/After School & Track Programs

This is a part-time, weekday-only, year-round position in which counselors will provide support for school-aged participants in a recreational setting. Counselors will oversee groups during passive/active games, assist with homework, and implement the curriculum-based activities set by their supervisors.

• Maintains a positive attitude
• Provides direction and motivation for participants in the program.
• Leads and participates in all activities with the participants.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
• Monitor participants for safety and address behavior concerns when necessary.
• Document and/or relay accident/incident information to the appropriate staff
• Modify activities as needed or provide reasonable accommodation for participation.
• Attend and participate in all required training sessions, staff meetings, and parent engagements.

Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, general laborer, etc.).

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions:
