Job Overview

The Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at N.C. State University seeks a Lecturer to deliver courses in biomedical engineering. The role includes preparing lecture content, assessing student performance, overseeing lab components as required, and meeting the institution’s educational mission.

Essential

Job Duties
  • Deliver lectures that cover the course objectives as stated on the syllabus following the N.C. State university calendar for the semester.
  • Assess student performance including exams, projects, laboratory assignments, and/or homework as outlined on the syllabus.
  • Oversee laboratory components (if applicable) to ensure successful completion of student objectives, appropriate safety measures, meaningful lab exercises, and coordination with lecture.
  • Grade exams, papers, and projects in a timely manner and provide help to students during scheduled office hours.
  • Supervise a teaching assistant and coordinate assignments that do not exceed the assistant’s workload.
Other Responsibilities
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education:

    MS in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in the subject area of the course to be taught.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
