Responsibilities- Provide leadership in planning, implementing, marketing, and evaluating educational programs and activities with measurable impacts.
- Be a team player and support the total Extension program.
- Network with broad audiences, customers, volunteers, Extension Specialists, and the local Extension staff.
- Actively seek outside resources to enhance the program.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies for presenting educational programs.
- Provide leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an effective livestock educational program to meet county needs.
- Demonstrate responsibility, self-motivation, and strong relationship skills with a background in livestock production and 4-H youth livestock development.
- Include responsibilities for forages as part of the program.
- Knowledge of cattle production (beef and dairy) and small livestock operations is necessary to address the county’s livestock education needs.
- Collaborate with 4-H staff and volunteers involved with youth livestock programming.
- Serve on the Haywood County Fair Planning Committee and coordinate all youth livestock and poultry shows for the annual county fair.
- Work schedule:
8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Nights and weekends as required. - Minimum Experience/
Education:
one of the following: - A Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 overall or 3.0 in an agricultural or related field (waiver available for NCCE Program Associates with a Bachelor’s degree).
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least half of Master’s coursework with a 3.0 GPA or higher in an agricultural or related field.
- A Master’s degree with at least one degree in an agricultural or related field.

Required Skills:
Frequent travel within the county and occasional travel outside; strong background in livestock production and 4-H youth livestock development.
- Valid NC Driver’s License required;
Commercial Driver’s License not required;
