Adjunct Instructor, Baking and Pastry Arts

Wake Technical Community College seeks part-time faculty to teach Baking and Pastry Arts. Openings may be available at this time; after review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future.

Adjunct faculty provide quality instruction on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations.

• Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner.
• Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance.
• Prepare thoroughly for each instructional class period.
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Grade and return student work in a timely manner.
• Consult students regarding their grades and progress in the course.

Design curriculum and schedule of instruction. Construct classroom materials that support course goals. Remain up-to-date on technology and teaching methods. Attend professional development opportunities when possible.

Use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning. Exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others. Maintain accurate records and meet deadlines consistently. Create a safe, collaborative and respectful working environment. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge and familiarity with technology and software including computers and web-based resources such as Blackboard. Perform normal duties with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication.

Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential.

Associate’s Degree in the teaching discipline.

Teaching experience. 3-5 years of industry experience. Bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline.
