Pay Grade:
Coordinator 5.
This position will direct the day-to-day functions of the Juntos program in Wake County. The coordinator will work with schools to recruit students to participate in the Juntos program with their families in Wake County via Family Engagement (workshops & family nights), one-on-one success coaching, an after school Juntos 4-H Club, and a Summer Camp experience.
Responsibilities- Promotes the Juntos program via introductory meetings at schools, networking with community partners, and working with existing youth clubs.
- Assists with the planning of educational content for Family Nights every other month and conducting the Juntos Family Workshop series once a year.
- Works with schools to coordinate and schedule bi-monthly 4-H Club meetings.
- Facilitates the planning of 4-H Club activities and meetings, including electing effective student leaders and engaging parents and community volunteers in the planning.
- Monitors the academic progress of program participants, conducting one-on-one success coaching with each youth.
- Manages the program including updating participant registration, maintaining project task logs, meeting minutes, sign-in sheets, attendance records, and related activities.
- Facilitates communication and coordination with extension field faculty, school personnel, and program partners.
- Monitors the overall project timeline and tracks project successes, including taking pictures and managing social media.
- Recruit for, plan, and attend Summer Academy in June with a cohort of youth.
- Attends monthly Juntos staff calls and individual coaching calls or trainings/meetings scheduled by the State Juntos office during the school year.
- Submits quarterly reports on the program’s progress.
- Conducts baseline and follow-up surveys with program youth participants and parents and assists with other data collection and coordination of evaluation data as needed.
- Maintains partnerships and communication with local Cooperative Extension Office, 4-H agent, and school staff.
- Serves as an integral part of the County Cooperative Extension’s professional faculty and staff.

- Ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities in a timely manner.
- Ability to meet with parents during evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel.
- Bachelor's Degree and two years working with middle and/or high school-age youth or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience working in the secondary education system in North Carolina.
- Experience working with families and youth.
