Job Duties
The primary purpose of the Executive Director is to provide administrative oversight of the Career Development Center including experiential learning opportunities, career management technologies, university, employer relations, pre-professional services, budget management, career development services, programs and courses.
Leadership & Operations Oversight – 60%- Provide visionary leadership, management and administrative oversight to the Career Development Center
- Ensure the development and implementation of best practices programs and services to promote and enhance student success to through the core functions of the unit
- Develop and foster effective relationships with employers and recruiter
- Develop, manage and maximize departmental budget and resources
Ensure appropriate hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, and continuing education of organizational staff
- Serve as champion and ambassador for the organization at the campus, state, and national levels
- Administer an effective and efficient department through engagement in systematic planning and qualitative and quantitative assessment
- Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures
- Coordinate and collaborate with other divisions and departments to ensure collaborative, comprehensive, and high quality services
- Create and implement innovative outreach and prevention programs
- Consult and partner with University administrators, faculty, staff, and others as appropriate
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.
- Masters Degree in higher education, counseling, psychology or related field.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience with direct leadership and oversight in a career center or relevant field.
- Experience in a higher education setting.
- Terminal Degree in a higher education, counseling, psychology or related field.
