Job Duties

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University (NC State) invites applications for a Lecturer position. Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level for the department's anthropology programs. Several hires will be made from this posting. Most will be part time and for in person teaching.

Other Responsibilities

The Lecturer is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. Each Lecturer prepares his/her own syllabi for the class(es) he/she teaches.

The Lecturer is responsible for performing duties during the day, evening, or weekend as assigned. A Lecturer performs all other duties as directed by the Department Head.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Applicant must have a master's degree in sociology or related field.
  • PhD is preferred.
  • Applicant must demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence.
Other

Required Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Discipline in Anthropology.
