Neurology Physician

Overview

Neurology Physician – UNC Health, Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC (Casual / per diem). Join an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates to support a grant-funded post-stroke clinic aimed at timely follow-up care and connecting patients with social health resources to optimize recovery outcomes. Physicians will provide virtual care to post-stroke patients in collaboration with an on-site advanced practice provider.

• Provides professional medical services to patients.
• Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.
• Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and other health and medical services; prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.
• Consults and counsels with patients and families; provides health and medical education to patients and families.
• Refs patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure multidisciplinary care.
• Documents medical and clinical care in the patient’s medical record; assigns diagnostic and procedural codes for third-party insurance billing.
• Supervises other medical professionals.
• Adheres to the principles of medical ethics.

• Meets Board Certification requirements; graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
• Board Certified in Neurology; licensure as a North Carolina physician; DEA; ACLS.
• Knowledge/skills:
  English language proficiency.
• Minimum physical and cognitive ability to perform duties; capacity for high-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning as related to medical diagnosis and clinical issues.

• Education Requirements:
  
  Graduation from an accredited medical school;
  Board Certification in Neurology.

  Certifications:
  
  North Carolina Medical License, Board Certified Neurology, DEA; ACLS; BLS/ACLS preferred.
