Responsibilities- Provide inpatient gastroenterology care as a GI hospitalist.
- Supervise advanced practice providers (APPs) and perform procedures in the endoscopy area.
- Work with onsite pathology, surgery, radiology and a full-time admitting general medicine service.
- Endoscopy suites: 5; total procedures: 8–12 daily.
- Consultation-only model with full-time APP coverage to perform consultations, daily follow-up, and procedure scheduling.
- No outpatient responsibilities.
- Manage structured call rotations and work-life balance with time off throughout the year.
- MD/DO in Gastroenterology.
- General GI experience; EUS/ERCP beneficial but not required.
- Ability to supervise APPs and perform procedures in the endoscopy area.
- Large community hospital in Raleigh, NC.
- Typical 3-week schedule:
- 7 days of General GI inpatient coverage with APP support
- 5 days of outpatient general GI procedures
- One week off
- 1:4 call, 1:4 weekend coverage
- No outpatient responsibilities
- Approximately 3–4 months off per year
