Overview

Wake Emergency Physicians, PA (WEPPA) is an independent group of over 150 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and over 125 advanced practice providers in Raleigh, NC. We staff several emergency departments in Wake, Johnston, Nash, Granville, Wayne and Lenoir counties, including eight emergency departments within the Wake Med Health and Hospital system in Raleigh and two departments within the Johnston UNC Health Care system in Clayton and Smithfield.

Other locations include Nash General Hospital (Rocky Mount), UNC Health Wayne Emergency Department (Goldsboro), UNC Health Lenoir Emergency Department (Kinston), and Granville Medical Center (Oxford). Staffing environments range from rural centers with one physician and one physician assistant to a large Level 1 Trauma Center with multiple providers across areas.

Along with this growth, we’ve developed our Physician Assistant program into an advanced, supportive, learning-rich environment with the goal of training highly skilled PAs interested in a career in emergency medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Staff emergency departments across multiple hospital systems and locations, ranging from rural centers to large trauma centers.
  • Collaborate with physicians and physician assistants to provide high-quality emergency medical care.
  • Contribute to a learning-rich environment that supports PA training and career development within emergency medicine.
  • Support system-specific needs as staffing requirements evolve across locations.
Qualifications
  • Board-certified emergency medicine physicians and physician assistants are part of the group description.

Benefits

WEPPA offers full-time physician assistants a generous salary and benefits package including a choice of Medical Plans, one with a $2,400 annual HSA contribution or a PPO plan, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care FSA, $3,000 CE allowance, CE hours for WEPPA CE conferences, Paid Time Off (PTO) and a 401k plan with profit sharing.

A $7,500 relocation reimbursement is available for those who qualify. Sign-on bonuses may be available for specific locations.
