MD/DO Gastroenterology Hospitalist – UNC Rex
UNC REX Digestive Healthcare has been providing exceptionally high-quality gastroenterology care to patients in the Raleigh area for more than 50 years. It is one of the most advanced gastroenterology practices in Raleigh and throughout the Wake County area.
UNC REX Digestive is seeking GI Hospitalists to join their team.
· General GI, EUS/ERCP beneficial but not required
· Affiliated cancer center and high-quality support with onsite pathology, surgery, radiology and full-time admitting general medicine admitting service
· Consultation only
· Full time APP coverage to perform all consultations and daily follow up and procedure scheduling.
· Physicians to supervise APPs and perform procedures in the endoscopy area
· Endoscopy Suites – 5
· Total Procedures – 8-12 daily
Practice Highlights
· Large community hospital in Raleigh, NC
· Typical 3-week schedule:
• 7 days of General GI inpatient coverage with APP support
• 5 days of general GI procedures
• One week off
• 1:4 call, 1:4 weekend coverage
· No outpatient responsibilities
· Approximately 3-4 months off per year

UNC Rex Hospital
Founded in 1894, UNC REX Healthcare (a member of UNC Health Care) is a private, not-for-profit health care system. Education Requirements:
● Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Board Certified Gastroenterology.
● DEA;
ACLS;
MD

Skills:
Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.
REASONING ABILITY
High-level quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential in order to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
North Carolina Medical License, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification preferred. Board certified in Gastroenterology.
