Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University is seeking an academically oriented, board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction, to join our community-based, hybrid academic practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Duke Health Raleigh is located in one of the fastest-growing areas of the state, offering the opportunity to be part of a leading orthopaedic academic department.

We invite individuals who have demonstrated the ability to develop a clinically busy adult reconstruction practice to apply. This new faculty member will join colleagues practicing across multiple locations with a variety of clinical profiles. Strong candidates will have a minimum of five years of clinical experience.

  • This position is a 90% clinical and 10% academic role, offering the opportunity to practice at several outpatient clinic locations throughout Wake County.
  • The clinical practice will be based in Wake County, with inpatient surgical cases primarily performed at Duke Raleigh Hospital, located just minutes from downtown Raleigh.
  • The hired surgeon will have access to the Arringdon surgical platform for outpatient arthroplasty cases.
  • Research support is available across the broad range of academic disciplines at Duke University to align with the goals and interests of the new faculty member.
  • Candidates with research aspirations may receive a university appointment and access support across the department’s broad range of research themes. A specific interest in clinical outcomes research in hip and knee arthroplasty is a plus.
  • Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and training
Qualifications
  • Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction (primary/revision hip and knee arthroplasty), and also have a strong interest in research and teaching
  • A commitment to excellent patient care, as well as teaching, scholarship, research, and leadership on local, national, and international levels.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.
