UNC REX Digestive Healthcare has been providing exceptionally high‑quality gastroenterology care to patients in the Raleigh area for more than 50 years. It is one of the most advanced gastroenterology practices in Raleigh and throughout Wake County.
Practice Highlights- Large community hospital in Raleigh, NC
- Typical 3‑week schedule: 7 days of general GI inpatient coverage with APP support; 5 days of general GI procedures; 1 week off; 1:4 call, 1:4 weekend coverage; no outpatient responsibilities; 3‑4 months off per year
- Provide general GI inpatient care; EUS/ERCP beneficial but not required
- Consultation only; supervise APPs and perform procedures in the endoscopy area
- Use 5 endoscopy suites; perform 8‑12 procedures daily
Full‑time; 40 hours per week. Work schedule variable. 1 week off per month; approximately 3‑4 months off per year.
Education Requirements- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- North Carolina Medical License
- DEA, ACLS, BLS (preferred)
- Proficient communication in English
- High‑level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills for diagnosis
Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work EnvironmentMedical office setting; moderate noise level.
