General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgial Critical Care APP

Overview

We are a close-knit group with a standard of providing compassionate and clinically excellent patient care across two hospitals working in general surgery (EGS, MIS, bariatrics, colorectal), trauma, and surgical critical care. We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated team-player to join our growing team of 25+ APPs in the coming months due to continued coverage expansion. Below is a brief outline of general expectations from our collaborative team agreement:

• "General Surgery, Trauma & Surgical Critical Care APPs provide comprehensive inpatient care to the surgical and injured patient. This team provides 24-hour inpatient coverage (including nights and weekends) at both Wake Med Raleigh and Wake Med Cary campuses. APPs work in collaboration with attending physicians to provide high quality, compassionate care. Responsibilities include inpatient rounding and discharges, surgical and trauma consultations, trauma activation response, evaluation, resuscitation, and care coordination as well as OR assistance and bedside procedures (including but not limited to laceration repair, I&D, wound vac application, chest tube insertion and removal, central line placement and arterial line placement).
  
  Day, night, weekend and holiday coverage is rotated based on coverage needs."

• Trauma/Surgical/Critical Care APP experience preferred, however we are willing to train the right candidate as long as they are passionate, self-motivated, hard working, coachable, and a fast learner.
• Open to both PAs and NPs, however NPs must be dual certified FNP and ACGNP with their RNFA (or intention to obtain their RNFA).
