Overview
The Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a full‑ anesthesiologist. Ideal candidates will be BC/BE in Anesthesiology, have a commitment to teaching, quality improvement and/or research, and be fellowship trained.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical care to patients in both the operating rooms and out‑of‑OR locations.
- Participate in resident and fellow education, including simulation and advanced airway management.
- Participate in and/or develop research and quality improvement projects.
- Leadership opportunities may be available for the interested and qualified applicant.

The Division of Neuroanesthesiology, Head and Neck Anesthesia, and Offsite Anesthesia is nationally recognized for excellence in basic neuroscience research, clinical research, and neuroanesthesia education, including the neurosurgical anesthesiology fellowship accredited by the ICPNT. The Division covers a large and rapidly growing neurosurgical and interventional neuroradiology practice with intraoperative MRI/CT imaging and endovascular neuroradiology suites that expand surgical capabilities and are integral to the neuroanesthesia practice.
The Division is also known for management of complex airways and oversees both the airway simulation laboratory and the annual Advanced Airway Workshop for trainees. Duke University Hospital is a Level I trauma center, a JCAHO‑Certified Stroke Center, and home of the world‑renowned Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
