Entry Level Park Planner/Designer – Raleigh, North Carolina

We are seeking an exceptional entry‑level Park Planner/Designer for our Parks Planning and Design Studio. The role focuses on planning and designing parks, public open space, sustainable infrastructure, greenways, trails, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities. You will work across the project lifecycle, collaborating with architects, engineers, economists, and community outreach professionals to deliver award‑winning projects.

• Compile data and conduct research to support project delivery.
• Create graphics to support planning documents.
• Play a key role in the preparation of plans.
• Write sections of planning reports and documents.
• Produce material for project meetings and workshops.
• Participate in on‑site workshops in a support role.
• Communicate effectively with the project team and manager.

• BA/BS degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent education/experience.

• Master’s degree in a related planning field.
• Related professional or internship experience.
• Positive outlook and can‑do attitude toward teamwork.
• Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to balance priorities.
• Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• High level of attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Creative and innovative graphics and project layout skills.
• Follow guidance with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Sketch Up Pro, and Photoshop.

Hourly rate of $28–$31, based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
