POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs project coordination for the Preconstruction Department. This includes, but is not limited to, contacting subcontractors regarding bid opportunities, maintaining subcontractor database, and assisting Preconstruction Managers as needed.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions as primary contact between Blum Construction's Preconstruction department and subcontractors:

  • Receive, organize, and manage all plans & specs from architects
  • Send Invitations to Bid and project notices to subcontractors
  • Generate project interest and follow up on bid status with subcontractors
  • Log and review subcontractor questions on projects; coordinate with Preconstruction Managers or architects for answers when needed
  • Create Clarifications and Addenda based on new/revised architect information
  • Receive and log subcontractor bids
  • Follow up with subcontractors for additional bid information
  • Coordinate all pre-bid/site visits with subcontractors
  • Create and post advertisements in local newspapers and media outlets
  • Ensure MWBE businesses have access to bid opportunities

Provides administrative support to the Preconstruction department:

  • Organize bid day logistics, including forms and meals
  • Attend or host pre-bid meetings, coordinate bid openings, review bids, and handle post-bid processes
  • Create Bid Manuals for subcontractor use during bidding
  • Assist with preparing professional documents such as deliverable books
  • Maintain department records like schedules and job boards
  • Create and update reports in Excel
  • Assist with other Preconstruction administrative tasks as needed


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required;
    Project Coordinator experience preferred
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Preferred proficiency in Adobe and Bluebeam
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
