Location:Raleigh, NC

Pay:$110,000/year

Experience:Minimum 5 years of experience managing asphalt pavement construction.

Education:Associates or bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, but will consider other combinations of education or experience.

Job Description:

  • Ensure full compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and established safe work practices.
  • Lead by example by promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all team members adhere to safety requirements.
  • Monitor safety practices, including proper PPE usage, and promptly report any unsafe conditions or actions to a supervisor or the Manager of Safety and Health.
  • Consolidate and accurately document billing, while tracking project progress and budget matters, and communicating updates to clients as needed.
  • Interpret and explain contracts, engineering plans, and technical information to internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with general superintendents, customers, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Select qualified subcontractors and oversee the scheduling and coordination of their activities.
  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other unforeseen challenges, ensuring projects remain on track.
  • Coordinate project schedules and material flow to support efficient operations.
  • Provide leadership by sharing knowledge and skills, supporting team development, and participating in proactive efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic graphics applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction plans, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to present information clearly to managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage multiple abstract and concrete variables.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic graphics applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
