We are seeking an Economist and Market Sizing Specialist who is intellectually curious and energized by learning new markets quickly. In this role, you will develop market sizing estimates and forecasts that translate research and quantitative analysis into actionable insights. Your work will directly support clients’ strategic planning, business development, and go-to-market decisions across the engineering and construction industry. The role is client-facing and project-based, with a strong emphasis on building robust models and exhibits in Excel and PowerPoint, developing clear, compelling narratives, and presenting findings to internal teams and clients.
You will deliver industry-leading market research that helps clients identify growth opportunities and understand the trends shaping market demand.
We are looking for someone who enjoys asking “why,” sourcing and validating trusted data, pressure-testing assumptions, and distilling complex market dynamics into a clear, cohesive story. This position involves close collaboration with project teams, deadline-driven work, and occasional travel (less than 10%).
This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity and will be based out of our corporate headquarters in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities- Own market sizing and forecasting work streams for client engagements.
- Build market size estimates and forecasts by segment and market, and document assumptions so results reconcile cleanly across sources.
- Translate client questions into a focused research plan, gather and validate data from trusted sources, and communicate assumptions and alternative scenarios clearly.
- Create clear narratives with supporting exhibits, present findings and methods, and summarize recommendations.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate research and improve repeatable workflows that increase team speed and consistency.
- Manage tasks and deadlines across multiple work streams with high attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to improve the client outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; graduate degree in economics, math, finance, statistics, engineering, or a related field a plus
- Two or more years of experience in a professional role with substantial analytical responsibility and market research exposure
- Strong quantitative skills, including intermediate math and statistics, with the ability to build and pressure-test models
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including creating clean, well-structured models and clear, client-ready exhibits; advanced skills a plus
- Experience synthesizing research into concise, decision-ready insights and narratives
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to groups
- Intellectual curiosity and a learning mindset, with interest in how industries and markets evolve
- High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and flexibility in a project-based, deadline-driven environment
- Client-facing orientation, with an outgoing, collaborative style
- Exposure to analytics or programming tools (e.g., Python, Tableau), AI-enabled workflows, or experience in construction, engineering, industrials, manufacturing, energy, or related industries a plus
