What You Will Contribute

The Solution Architect is primarily responsible for pre‑sales support of the Badger Meter field sales and distribution efforts across the complete Badger Meter Water Quality product line. Duties include technical training and assistance, Bid/RFP response information, system pre‑installation planning with the customer, technical seminars, trade show representation, lunch and learns, industry shows, and special sales support projects as required. The position requires detailed technical knowledge of Badger Meter’s full product line and will provide post‑sales field support as needed.

Preferred location:
North or South Carolina (Charlotte, Raleigh, or Columbia). Up to 50% travel.

Job Duties
  • Provide pre‑sales assistance for the Water Quality Sales Team, including solution/system design.
  • Remain proficient and up to date in instruments and system technology, both with Badger Meter products and competitive offerings.
  • Assist with presentations to key prospects, target accounts, and customers.
  • Respond to RFP/Bid requests and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Act as a mentor to peers and inside sales representatives, enhancing team product understanding.
  • Communicate competitor changes, new strategies, pricing, and product introductions.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with all governmental requirements applicable to Badger Meter’s products.
  • Assist in training new internal and external sales representatives.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the water/wastewater industry desired; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced proficiency with CSM System; basic proficiency required.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly required.
