Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

- Perform month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, maintaining accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize accounting software such as Quick Books Enterprise, Coupa, and Workday Financial Management to manage financial data.

- Assist with corporate tax return preparation and ensure adherence to tax regulations.

- Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.

- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and resolve discrepancies.

- Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Enterprise, Coupa, and Workday Financial Management.

- Ability to prepare and post journal entries with precision.

- Familiarity with corporate tax return preparation and associated compliance.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
