Accounting Manager

What You’ll Do

Our client is hiring an Accounting Manager to join its growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and enjoys building scalable accounting processes while leading and developing others.

This role is based onsite at the company’s headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina
.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and lead the full month-end close process in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, including review of reconciliations and analyses across cash and cash equivalents, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, inventory, accounts payable, payroll-related accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Manage relationships with external tax compliance providers and ensure accurate monthly reconciliation and analysis of tax-related accounts and restricted cash.
• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, maintaining general ledger integrity and supporting financial analysis and reporting needs.
• Partner with the Controller to manage external audit efforts, including preparation and review of audit documentation, support of year-end audit procedures, drafting and review of financial statement footnote disclosures, and serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Mentor, develop, and manage members of the accounting team, ensuring timely closes and reporting through effective workload distribution, cross-training, and performance development.
• Collaborate with finance leadership to develop, refine, and ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, driving process improvements that enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of financial reporting.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives that support the growth and evolution of the accounting function within a lean finance organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and end-to-end accounting processes
• Hands-on experience with Net Suite or a similar ERP system, including advanced searches and reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize independently, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

• 3+ years of experience leading an accounting team within a SaaS or technology company
• 3+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience
