Overview

Public Safety Telecommunicator - Per Diem (max. 29 hours per week) – City of Rahway, Police Department. The primary duty is answering and dispatching personnel/equipment from calls received, including 911, and other duties as outlined in the Civil Service Commission title Public Safety Telecommunicator. Must be able to multi-task and work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training will be provided;

experience is an asset. Candidate must possess an NJ Basic Telecommunicator Certification.

Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are performed. The City of Rahway is a CSC and EEO employer and reserves the right to interview qualified candidates prior to the deadline. Preference is given to Rahway residents.

• Answer and dispatch personnel and equipment from calls received (including 911).
• Perform duties outlined in the Civil Service Commission title Public Safety Telecommunicator.
• Maintain ability to multi-task and work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Must possess an NJ Basic Telecommunicator Certification.
• Training will be provided; experience is an asset.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Preference may be given to Rahway residents.
