SUMMARY
Aftermarket Technician has a working knowledge of electronic product lines and will inspect aftermarket or returned electronic drives. Aftermarket technicians will also perform the following duties.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily:
- Complete first level analysis and tear-down inspections on returned electronic drives, meeting the customer's required timeline.
- Repair or refurbish electronic drives if required.
- Troubleshoot and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA).
- Work with QE and ME to implement desired corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform functions in Oracle - look up BOM.
- Perform functions in Matrix - Enter RMA data and analysis.
- Correlate data, update daily and weekly RMA metrics.
- Position may require field service travel for up to one-week per visit.
- Apply knowledge from field returns to post pack audit process.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job:
- Two-year degree
- Must have basic understanding and usage of mechanical gauging equipment and electrical test equipment
- Must be able to read and work to blueprints and work instructions
- Minimum two years' experience in related field is required.
- Strong technical background is required to troubleshoot systems, machinery, test equipment.
- Use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the failure mode of the product.
- Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have good communication and computer skills. Must be able to communicate with a customer verbally and in writing.
- Must be self-directed and able to work well in a team environment.
