Position Overview
The role of Mechanical Engineer‑Current Products involves designing and supporting mechanical systems, motors, and actuators for Kollmorgen’s current product portfolio. You will lead concept generation, analysis, and validation of mechanical features, ensuring compliance with specifications and customer requirements. This position involves close collaboration with electromagnetic design teams and direct interaction with customers, typically managing 3–5 concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop mechanical concepts and perform design analysis, including structural (FEA), thermal, dynamic, and motion system evaluations.
- Review and negotiate specifications; lead internal and customer‑facing design reviews and communicate design intent to customers.
- Create detailed product documentation, including CAD models, assembly/layout drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and engineering change requests (ECR/ECN).
- Validate designs through testing to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Provide technical support to customers and assist field service personnel as needed.
- Support sales efforts by evaluating RFQs, estimating BOMs, and preparing proposal drawings and technical content.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering design.
- Proficiency in solid modeling CAD software for mechanical design.
Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with mechanical FEA and advanced analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with motion systems and actuator design.
