Job DescriptionThe Department of Theatre and Cinema welcomes applications for several adjunct teaching positions. Positions may be needed for face‑to‑face teaching of Theatre Appreciation or Introduction to World Cinema and other courses based on individual experience and future needs.
Adjunct Faculty positions supplement the faculty of a department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty, as defined by their letter of appointment, are without eligibility for tenure; when authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.
Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment.
Required QualificationsAll faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching, with 18 hours of coursework related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on the substitution of experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Prior professional experience in any of the traditional fields of theatre or cinema
Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of their transcripts of post‑secondary courses with the application. If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post‑secondary coursework will be required upon selection for hire.

Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation as offered upon appointment. Orientation date and time will be announced.
