Admissions RN- Weekend Nightshift

Responsibilities

The Admissions Nurse is a key member of the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System admissions team. The Admissions Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care, using the nursing process, to patients within the treatment milieu (child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric), according to the Standards of Nursing Practice and Care.

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140‑bed hospital offering inpatient services for female adolescents, adults, older adults, military/veterans and their families. It has a spacious cafeteria, gymnasium, art/activity room, group rooms, classrooms and other areas to create a pleasant atmosphere for patients and their families. The quality services are provided by psychiatrists, addictionologists, licensed therapists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists and teachers.

Care is given by registered nurses 24 hours a day. Since 1986, the facility has been a proven psychiatric care provider in mental health and substance abuse.

• Involves the administration of medications and treatment in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures.
• Assists in patient nursing care to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs of patients served.
• Knowledgeable in patient growth and development stages in the human lifespan as it relates to the admissions process.

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure or work permit in the state of Kentucky.
• No experience required; however, psychiatric nursing is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of family dynamics, adaptive/maladaptive coping skills that families use, parenting skills, and ability to work with family systems to resolve conflicts.
• Must have a basic understanding of chemically dependent families and community resources to provide support to the patient and family.

• CPR Certification
• RN Licensure

• Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age‑specific growth and development, and crisis and behavior management.
