Program Coordinator (Part-time)

Monday – Thursday, 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (September – May; summer hours may vary)
Compensation: $20 per hour
Calendar: Follows Racine Unified School District calendar for holidays and days off (non-paid days)

Position Summary: The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation of youth academic programming for 4th‑12th graders under the supervision of the Program Manager. This position is responsible for data collection, academic support, communication with students and families, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate has a strong background in education, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the maturity to work with adolescents and adults in a community‑based setting.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Support:
- Provide academic tutoring and homework help to middle and high school students on‑site.
- Administer academic assessments to students as required.
- Must be proficient in high school‑level Algebra and Geometry.
- Data & Reporting:
- Collect and maintain accurate program data based on grant requirements.
- Track student attendance and academic progress.
- Assist in preparing reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Program Operations:
- Assist the Program Manager with program delivery and logistics.
- Assist the Program Manager in research, planning and executing enrichment activities.
- Assist the Program Manager with planning, shopping, and preparing meals for students.
- Support classroom management and create a structured, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Family & Community Engagement:
- Assist with student registration requirements.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with parents and caregivers.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
- Attend community events and resource fairs as a program representative.
- Bachelor’s degree or current college coursework required (Education or related field preferred).
- Proficiency in high school‑level Algebra and Geometry is essential.
- Proficiency in Google applications.
- Minimum one year of experience working with adolescents in a classroom or out‑of‑school time setting.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Maturity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Prorated PTO after 6 months of employment.
- A background check and a required class must be completed prior to your start date.
- College transcripts or current class schedule with transcripts up to this point required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Some local travel required for school and community engagement.
