The City is now hiring two (2) Public Works Utility Workers.
CLOSING DATE: Friday, March 27, 2026
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Fair Labor Standards Act Non-Exempt, Teamsters Local Union No. 760
SALARY RANGE: $4,844.50 to $5,791.60 per month depending upon qualifications and experience.
BENEFITS: Employer pays 90% of Medical, dental, vision and life premium benefits, State PERS retirement plan, State deferred compensation optional, 12 days of paid Vacation per year, 8 hours of paid Sick Leave per month and 12 paid Holidays per year.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The person occupying this position operates heavy and specialized equipment and performs maintenance repair and construction work on public works facilities and projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License, must obtain a Class B Washington State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within a year.
- Experience in utility construction and equipment operation is desirable.
- Have or have the ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR Card and a Certified Flagger’s Card.
This position shall be filled by appointment of the mayor and will involve a twelve-month probationary period, during which time the employee may be dismissed for any reason at the sole discretion of the City of Quincy.
