The client enables secure, standards-based connectivity among healthcare organizations to improve the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of care for residents of the Commonwealth. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Application Architect / Developer with deep Healthcare IT and enterprise architecture expertise to design, build, and support large-scale applications.

This role is responsible for leading application architecture across the full software development lifecycle, modernizing and supporting existing systems, and ensuring alignment with healthcare interoperability standards and industry best practices. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical skills, deep experience with healthcare messaging and middleware platforms, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business, technical, and executive stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions.

• Collaborate with the business to understand requirements
• Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/standards/trends related to architectural solutions and implement them into solutions pertaining to the Organization0s needs
• Oversee the Design Process for Application Software development throughout the life cycle
• Create Technical Documents such as design, environment, deployment, architecture, etc.
• Communicate effectively with all other teams and stakeholders during these activities

• Experience developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs, RESTful and SOAP)
• Expertise in Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, JMS, Java Beans, JSTL, JSF, Struts, EJB, Spring, Hibernate, JTA, JNDI, JPA, RESTful / SOAP, WSDL, .NET Framework 4.8, ASP.NET Web Forms, Web API, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), XML, JavaScript (ES6/ES2021), HTML5, DHTML, CSS3, SOAP, JSON, jQuery, Angular, Python and Node.js
• Experience in healthcare messaging using web services, XML, CCD/CCDA, CDR, XDR
• Experience developing customized software using middleware technologies like Orion0;s Rhapsody, Ensemble, Mirth, Web Sphere, MQ, Web Methods and JBoss
• Develop Routes, Filters and Communication Points using Orion0;s Rhapsody Software
• Build full-stack applications using JavaScript (Node.js and Mongo
  
  DB), front-end JavaScript (jQuery, Angular
  
  JS), Java/J2EE, HTML, and CSS, including libraries and frameworks
• Must be an expert in Spring framework including configuring Spring Application Context with Dependency Injection, Spring IOC, Spring AOP, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot, Spring JPA and Spring Batch
• Design applications using Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana and other big data/NOSQL technologies
• Develop asynchronous programming patterns and develop service oriented architecture
• Experience with version control tools like Git Hub, Subversion (SVN) and CVS
• Maintain and verify code standards
• Test and deploy the code

• Bachelor0;s degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree
• 10+ years of strong technical programming / architecture experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in hands-on programming
• Healthcare IT experience desired
