Perform routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of refrigeration, heating & air‑conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities with minimal supervision.

• Execute prescribed, routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self‑contained temperature‑controlled merchandisers.
• Perform preventative maintenance for convenient stores, small format, and supermarkets, including compressor change assists, leak searching, and coil washing.
• Detect and repair leaks, solder connections, diagnose low airflow, replace motors, and perform walk‑in case installation with some direction from a Master or Lead Technician.
• Complete work tickets, time sheets, and electronic communication accurately and promptly.
• Maintain truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines.
• Develop excellent customer relations and articulate equipment malfunctions using proper terminology.
• Understand basic electrical schematics (volts, amps, ohms).
• Responsible for TEV troubleshooting and replacement.
• Demonstrate knowledge of refrigeration system evaluation, charging, evacuation, and recovery.
• Safely handle R290 refrigerant and other hazardous materials.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Formal

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education: HVAC‑R Technical School Degree

Experience: External candidates: 5 years in the field or 3 years with Certification from a Technical School

• Must have a Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Physically able to walk distances, bench, crouch, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work at high elevations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, highly motivated.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools.
• Must work nights and/or weekends as required.
• Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and HVAC preferred.
• Strong leadership and business acumen.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Superior decision‑making and paperwork skills.
