ICU (Intensive Care Unit) only recent 1+ year required IL license required ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS covid card references checklist
Required Qualifications- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Center
- Experience in 300+ bed hospital
- CRRT experience highly preferred
- Prefer experience pulling arterial/cardiac sheaths
Typical ICU patient populations include:
Critical Care Conditions- Sepsis
- DKA (Diabetic Keto acidosis)
- COVID
- Post-operative recovery
- Post heart catheterization (sheath removal sometimes)
- Suicidal ideation (SI) patients
- Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA)
- Drownings
- Tractor rollover accidents
- Fractures
- Spinal injuries
- Neurosurgery patients
- External Ventricular Drain (EVD)
- Lumbar Drain (LP drain)
- 24-hour EEG monitoring
- CRRT (Prismaflex)
- ECMO (occasionally)
- Rotaprone therapy
- TTM (Targeted Temperature Management – Arctic Sun)
- Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP)
- Train of Four monitoring
- Frequent paralysis/sedation
- Organ recovery procedures (procurement only, no transplants)
- Tracheostomy care
- Chest tube (CT) insertion
- Bronchoscopy
- Arterial line insertion
- Lumbar puncture drains
- Sheath removal post-cardiac cath
