  • Setting: Acute Care – Inpatient Surgical/Telemetry (3rd floor, 48 beds across two buildings)
  • Contract Type: Travel (Travel RN assignment)

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12 Hour Days (3 shifts per week, 36 hours guaranteed)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirement: Rotates with core staff
  • Floating: To similar units only; if floated to higher acuity, will serve as support without a patient load
  • Charting System: EPIC (EPIC charting experience required)
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs
  • Orientation: 1 unit-based 12-hour shift plus onboarding modules and competencies
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
Qualifications /

Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license required for submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent surgical nursing experience required (Med/Surg and post-op experience preferred)
  • Experience with total joint patients, PCA pumps, reversal agents (e.g., Narcan), sepsis management, TPN/lipids, and narcotic administration
  • Telemetry interpretation skills (ability to read and act on telemetry strips; Draeger monitors; monitor tech support available)
  • Experience titrating heparin drips per protocol
  • Certifications required: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
  • Comfortable working in a primary care nursing model and a fast-paced inpatient environment
  • EPIC charting experience required (facility is undergoing EPIC conversion in Q2 2026)
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse surgical and medical patient population, including neuro, orthopedic, vascular, and post-op cases
  • Manage complex patient needs such as pain control, IV antibiotics, TPN/lipids, and sepsis protocols
  • Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with monitor techs and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Administer and titrate heparin drips according to protocol
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, and patient throughput in a high-volume unit (8–12 surgical admits per day)
  • Work collaboratively with LPNs, CNAs, and virtual admission/discharge nurses in a supportive team environment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC and follow unit-specific charting requirements
  • Adhere to unit policies, infection control standards, and evidence-based nursing practices
