Position Overview

The Registered Nurse – MS/Peds Float provides comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients across Medical-Surgical and Pediatric units. The RN is responsible for delivering safe, patient-centered care while adapting to varying acuity levels and unit workflows. Flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to float within the hospital are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing patient monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Monitor vital signs and respond to clinical changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Float between MS and Pediatric units based on census and staffing needs
• Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Illinois RN License (required at submission)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Prior MS and/or Pediatric experience preferred
• Certifications:
  • Required certifications must be active at submission (per unit requirements)
• Other Requirements:
  • Candidates must reside outside 30-mile radius
  • SSN and DOB required at submission
  • COVID vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • Background disclosure required prior to submission
  • Permanent employees must be separated for at least 6 months
