The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy

is looking for an energetic Non-Certified Nursing Personnel to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to provide excellent customer service to our residents. The primary purpose of your job position is to perform non-direct patient care.

4:00PM - 8:00PM, Part-Time, 12-16 hours a week, every other weekend required

Rate of Pay: $15.25 - $17.25/hr

Responsibilities
  • 1. Pass ice and water to the resident’s rooms and trays at meal times to residents in the dining room.
  • 2. Follow established Universal Standards protocols. Wear gloves.
  • 3. Pass clean linens.
  • 4. Make beds.
  • 5. Wash beds on the days the resident receives a bath, whirlpool, or shower.
  • 6. Empty trash cans.
  • 7. Clean bedside tables, over bed tables, drawers, closets, and wheelchairs.
  • 8. Mark resident’s name on combs, brushes, denture cups, dentures.
  • 9. Clean kitchen and dining room.
  • 10. Prepare the dining room (make coffee, pass clothing protectors, clean tables, record intake, etc.).
  • 11. Provide verbal cues to residents who need it.
  • 12. Transport residents to off-unit locations.
  • 13. Assist with transporting residents to doctor’s appointments and to the hospital.
  • 14. Assist with the transfer of a residents’ belongings from one room or unit to another.
  • 15. Complete resident belonging list at time of admission and update as needed.
  • 16. Answer call lights. If it something you can do (hand them something, straighten their sweater, etc.) do it. If it requires hands‑on care, then go tell a nurse or CNA what is needed.
  • 17. Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the eldery.
