Overview
Teacher of Geography – Queensferry High School. We are seeking a full-time, permanent Teacher of Geography to join our busy Social Subjects faculty, starting in August 2026.
This is a six-year comprehensive school in the North West Locality of the City of Edinburgh Council. The catchment area covers Queensferry, Dalmeny, Echline and Kirkliston Primary Schools, as well as St Margaret's RC Primary School at parent/carer request. The school moved into a brand new building with excellent resources and views of the Forth Estuary. The school roll is over 1,200 and rising.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
Role and ResponsibilitiesTo contribute to the quality and effectiveness of the Geography provision within the Social Subjects faculty and to support the school in delivering high standards of pupil achievement and progress. The postholder will be expected to undertake standard teaching duties and participate in the wider life of the school as required.
Qualifications and RequirementsThis post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
