ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs when they require assistance.
• Thank guests and let them know you’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while maintaining compliance with laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

• You enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests and fellow team members.
• You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success.
• You are open to working a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times).
• Training is provided, but the following skills are helpful: welcoming attitude, ability to communicate using devices including handheld scanners, ability to work independently and on a team, quick guest question resolution, attention to detail, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders and handle/move merchandise safely (up to 44 pounds).
• Flexible work schedule; reliable and prompt attendance required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
