Job Purpose And Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will be often the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and delivering caring service that exceeds expectations. You will work within standard operating procedures, maintain communication, and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities
  • Follow company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Show empathy and genuine care by creating personalized moments for patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; solve or elevate patient problems.
  • Perform basic inventory activities: accurately put away medication deliveries, complete cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting‑bin inventories, etc.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team: embrace a growth mindset, be receptive to feedback, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs. Voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles. Comply with CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary staffing of offsite clinics) where allowable by law and supported by training and certification.
Immunization Responsibilities
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer them to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions, report adverse events per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, licensure, and certification.
    • Minimum age of 16 if not specified by the state board.
    • High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in high school or high‑school equivalency program if not specified by the state board.

    • Use and understand verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.
    • Practice active listening and avoid interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Mathematical Reasoning
    • Use math to solve problems such as determining tablet counts and supply requirements.
  • Problem Resolution
    • Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
  • Physical Demands
    • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
    • Lift up to 20 lbs, often up to 10 lbs.
    • Reach, stretch, and lift items; use machines precisely.
    • Enjoy tasks requiring hands, fingers, and visual acuity.
  • Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
