Job Goal
The Academic/Curriculum Coach, having both content and instructional expertise will work with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding of researched-based, high-yield instructional practices.
Qualifications- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Experience preferred in the areas of curriculum development, instructional improvement, assessment, and professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Teaching experience in Math K-6.
- Elementary Mathematics Coach:
- Elementary - Mathematics Specialist, K-8 Endorsement through the Arizona Department of Education required for K-6
- Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data.
- Effective organizational planning and project management skills.
- Five (5) years of successful elementary teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and to bend and lift 25 lbs.
- Must pass a background clearance.
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Clearance Card.
- SEI (Structured English Immersion) requirement posted on the certificate.

Performance ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Plan, facilitate, and deliver professional development aligned with school improvement, district, and team goals.
- Model effective instructional practices and co-teach lessons in K–12 classrooms.
- Train teaching staff in the implementation of Arizona Academic Standards and other required instructional frameworks.
- Mentor teachers using assessment data to identify specific areas for growth.
- Communicate effectively with large groups of teachers and administrators across multiple schools.
- Build teacher capacity by strengthening instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
- Support the review and selection of textbooks and instructional materials to ensure alignment with district, state, and federal standards.
- Train teachers and instructional staff in new content areas, programs, and initiatives.
- Facilitate curriculum development and customization sessions; document findings and prepare reports.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, committees, task forces, and initiatives to share information and support district priorities.
- Cultivate collaboration across teams for data analysis, goal setting, and implementing effective instructional practices that align to specific problem in learning.
- Engage in professional development to strengthen coaching, data analysis, and content knowledge.
- Offer targeted coaching and feedback through classroom observations, reflection conversations, and goal-setting with teachers.
- Provide job-embedded professional development by modeling effective instructional practices, co-teaching, and facilitating lesson planning with teachers.
- Analyze student performance data to identify achievement gaps, inform instructional strategies, and support data-driven decision-making at the classroom and school level.
- Collaborate with school leaders to align coaching goals with school improvement plans and district priorities.
- Support curriculum alignment by ensuring instructional practices are consistent with district and state standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
