Qualifications
  • Must be HQ Paraprofessional with Associate's degree of 60 college credit hours or pass Para Pro Exam.
  • Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
  • Ability to follow directions and school procedures from the Principal and designated staff.
  • Ability to operate general office machines.
  • Ability to organize and to prioritize.
  • Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
  • Prefer experience working with elementary level students.
  • Must obtain IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and background clearance.

181 days; 9 months

Performance Responsibilities
  • Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the reading or math interventionist.
  • Assists independent study, enrichment work and remedial work for the classroom.
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
  • Participates in in-service training programs as required.
  • Exercising positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills.
  • Adhering to the dress code appropriate for the site and job.
  • Assisting with the supervision of students during emergency drills, and assemblies.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer being employed.
  • Being flexible and performing other duties relating to general job function as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist the teacher with evaluation of student progress in relations to established educational objectives.
