Lead Game Designer
Frima Studio seeks a Lead Game Designer to help elevate our design team's impact. The role offers flexible, remote or hybrid work across Quebec, and a 4.5‑day work week (Freed Friday afternoons). - Identify suitable technical and conceptual means to realize the project vision while respecting production constraints.
- Organize and animate regular meetings with your team to monitor progress, anticipate risks, and validate schedules.
- Track deliverables ensuring quality, consistency, gameplay, and timelines meet standards.
- Actively participate in game design and creation with the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with the Design Director (core team) to align with company standards.
- Coach and support your direct team, providing continuous feedback.
- Develop a trusted partnership and act as the primary point of contact with partners.
- Share design best practices with other leads and managers.
- Improve design processes to increase efficiency and creativity.
- Bachelor’s in Game Design or a related field combined with equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of game design experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine.
- Strong mobile experience.
- Experience with third‑person shooters is a plus.
- Willingness to travel outside the country as needed.
- Excellent written and spoken French and English;
English proficiency required for collaboration with anglophone partners.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, initiative and ability to move projects forward proactively.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills with a comfort for co‑development.
- Curiosity about new technologies, market trends and design best practices, and a willingness to experiment and innovate.
