Emergency Response Coordinator
Your Mission
Ready to transform our emergency response practices? Under the leadership of the Health and Safety Supervisor, you will play an essential role in ensuring a high level of fire safety and security at the Bécancour plant site. You will be at the heart of interventions, prevention, training, and maintenance of safety-related assets, while actively contributing to a culture of collaboration and vigilance.
YourDay-to-day
- Participate in the identification and analysis of fire safety and security risks.
- Lead emergency response operations on site (fire, rescue) and support medical or hazardous materials (Hazmat) response operations.
- Develop, supervise, and provide training to members of the emergency response team.
- Plan preventive inspections and ensure the proper functioning of emergency equipment, specialized vehicles, and extinguishing systems (sprinklers, portable fire extinguishers, etc.);
- Implement, update, and enforce operational procedures and guidelines for the emergency response team and the gatehouse.
- Support the team in applying fire prevention rules and the requirements of the prevention program and integrated management system.
- Conduct inspection rounds, write reports, and follow up on corrective measures in event management tools.
- Supervise hot work and ensure compliance.
- Welcome new employees and inform them of the measures in place.
- Participate in weekly operations meetings and relevant committees to represent issues related to emergency and safety measures.
- Contribute to a healthy work environment and clear communication within the OHS team.
- Ensure your continuous professional development.
- College diploma in fire prevention, fire safety response, occupational health and safety, or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial setting.
- Class 5 and Class 4A driver's license required.
- Good knowledge of OHS laws and standards, management systems (ISO 45001), and ideally the NFPA standard.
- Proficiency in computer tools, particularly the Office suite.
- Strong communication skills, administrative rigor, and ability to manage priorities in emergency situations.
- Motivational leadership, analytical skills, customer service orientation, and autonomy.
- Aptitude for training, coaching, and collaboration in a multicultural environment.
- Actively promote the values of health and safety, ethics, diversity, and inclusion.
