Job Overview

, by applying your expertise within the Cascades Recovery + team as the Subcontractor Project Leader - Transportation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage subcontracted haulers and processors, including job setup in AMCS, schedule review, capacity monitoring, and inventory tracking at third‑party sites.
  • Conduct site assessments and audits to validate supplier capabilities, material accuracy, documentation completeness, and compliance with operational and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring alignment on service expectations, reliability, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance, ensuring adherence to agreements, required documentation, timelines, and month‑end job accuracy.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly, including scheduling conflicts, access or weather challenges, delays, and equipment breakdowns, while ensuring clear detailed communication from suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, service updates, and optimized routing and capacity planning.
  • Communicate proactively with customer service and internal stakeholders regarding job statuses, ETAs, disruptions, and service resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation, including dispatch records, issue logs, performance metrics, weekly activity updates, and improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of previous experience in operations/logistics, transportation coordination, or dispatch management.
  • Experience in transport agreement negotiations, route planning and knowledge of transportation/operations compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced in Excel skills), experience with SAP, Power BI and tracking systems (an asset).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail, particularly in documentation and reporting.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on proactive resolution.
  • Proficiency in French and English, allowing you to communicate easily with our units and partners across Québec, the English‑speaking provinces, and the United States.
