About This Position

The IDB’s Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) is looking for a dynamic and innovative Investigations and Litigation Consultant to play a key role in carrying out significant and complex investigations of suspected or alleged prohibited practices in IDB Group-financed activities.

The Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) is an independent unit within the IDB Group that promotes integrity and prevents misconduct in IDB-financed activities. It investigates allegations of prohibited practices—such as fraud and corruption—and manages integrity risks across operations and corporate activities.

As a second line of defense, OII supports teams in identifying and mitigating threats to the IDB Group’s reputation and goals. It develops protocols, advises projects, and raises awareness through training and outreach. OII also contributes to transparency by reporting findings, recommending actions, and collaborating with peer institutions to strengthen integrity standards.

  • Based on the findings from investigations and other sources, assist in identifying lessons learned, recommendations, policies and instruments to prevent prohibited practices both within and outside the IDB Group.
  • Provide assistance and support to anti-corruption activities, collaborating with the preventive team on specific tasks, as directed by the Chief of OII or the Investigations Sector Principal Specialist.
  • Collaborate across investigators to ensure that all information in the Case Management System is up to date as well as gather and present statistical information to report to OII Management.
  • Complete all tasks in accordance with the highest standards of integrity, quality, timeliness, and objectivity.
