The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is looking for a Construction Manager to join our team in Montreal, QC. In this role, you’ll coordinate daily construction activities at project sites, ensuring compliance with quality plans, specifications, and schedules. You’ll plan resources effectively, resolve discrepancies, and monitor materials, equipment, and manpower to keep projects on track.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
This is a senior-level position where you’ll apply advanced knowledge to manage complex projects and processes, work independently with limited supervision, and coach junior professionals. How You’ll Make an Impact- Lead and organize site construction kick-off meetings.
- Review tender estimates and schedules, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Build RFQ packages and coordinate subcontractor pricing.
- Oversee pre-mobilization and site mobilization activities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Control and validate all change orders at the site.
- Support Site Managers and Project Managers with documentation and compliance.
- Join weekly construction meetings and conduct site visits as required.

Your Background- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in construction management or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and compliance.
- Ability to manage complex projects independently.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% across the US, Mexico, and Canada.
