Our portfolio is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst to work closely with senior management in continuing the company’s successful M&A activity. Reporting initially to the Director of M&A, this position will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and closing acquisition opportunities.
The ideal candidate is inherently curious, has mature interpersonal skills and has meticulous attention-to-detail. Drive, resourcefulness, and an ability to thrive in ambiguity will be crucial for this role. An understanding and appreciation of serial acquirors is an asset.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and gain M&A experience or is playing a critical role in a hierarchical M&A organization but wants the opportunity to lead acquisition processes from start to finish.
What your impact will be:M&A Execution (80% of the role)
- After learning our business model and processes, you will lead acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration handoff
- You will be expected to thoroughly qualify acquisition targets, assessing their moats and competitive advantages
- You will be responsible for financial modeling, due diligence (including project managing our functional and business unit teams), negotiation, investment approval and post-close monitoring for multiple M&A transactions per year
- Preparing business summaries, investment memos, commentary, and responding to detailed Q&A from our internal stakeholders
M&A Business Development (20% of the role)
- Directly solicit and engage companies for acquisition: identify, research, and cold call target companies
- Work with our multiple M&A business development specialists to ensure acquisition opportunities are being effectively nurtured and appropriately escalated.
- Maintain relationships with our existing network of acquisition targets and intermediaries through telephone calls and emails

- Internal reporting on pre-close acquisition activity and pipeline, post-close acquisition performance
- Some travel required (10%)
- 1-5 years of direct experience in a similar role, corporate finance, investment analysis or M&A activity; new graduates should also consider applying
- Self-started with exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
