- You will repair and overhaul brake systems including mechanical, hydraulic, direct air and vacuum over hydraulic.
- You will repair and overhaul front end drive axels and replace their components.
- You will repair and overhaul single speed, two speed and positive traction axles.
- You will replace related components parts including pressure plates, discs, release bearings and sleeves.
- You will rebuild, install and adjust water pumps, shutters and shutter slate, replace thermostats, temperature indicators and radiators.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to possess a current Automotive Service Excellence certification.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a current Virginia Class B Commercial Drivers License with air brake endorsement certification within 6 months.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
