This course provides a national capability for CI Agents to independently conduct Counterintelligence investigations to determine whether a particular person is acting for or on behalf of, or an event that is related, a Foreign Intelligence Entity, as well as determine actions to identify the appropriate resolution. The CI Agent can devise plans that leverage all CI functions, missions, and CI investigative tools and defend their utilization of DoD Manual 5240.01, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, affidavits, and evidence.
This course consists of classroom instruction and practical exercises that frequently exceed 8-hour days. This course requires work after hours and on weekends. An instructor in this course must have served as a senior CI investigator with experience conducting the full investigative cycle. This is a 4-week course.
