We are seeking a Senior Estimator with proven experience in heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects
. This role is critical in driving accurate cost estimation, bid preparation, and preconstruction planning for large-scale projects such as highways, bridges, site development, utilities, and heavy construction
. As a Senior Estimator, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and leadership to ensure that bids are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company goals. This position requires strong technical expertise, market knowledge, and leadership ability to mentor junior estimators and contribute to the success of high-profile projects.

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and proposals for heavy/highway, site, and infrastructure projects
  .
• Analyze project specifications, plans, and bid documents to ensure accuracy in scope and pricing.
• Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs, material, labor, and equipment pricing
  .
• Develop subcontractor and supplier solicitations, review quotes, and negotiate pricing.
• Assess project risks and prepare contingency plans to ensure profitability.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams during preconstruction planning.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior estimators.
• Present estimates and recommendations to senior management for bid approval.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in bid preparation.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in estimating for heavy civil, sitework, and infrastructure projects
  .
• Proficiency in takeoff software, estimating systems, and MS Office Suite
  .
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and cost structures
  .
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.

• Experience with DOT highway projects, bridge construction, and utility/site development
  .
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Heavy Bid, HCSS, Bluebeam, Procore).
• Strong analytical skills for reviewing subcontractor quotes and cost breakdowns.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
